Good News For GHOSTED Fans

Have you checked out Ghosted on Fox yet? If not, I suggest you do. The show has a pretty simple premise: comedy X-Files. That's the easiest way to streamline it. It's been done before and it's a concept that could easily fail. Yet through it's first couple of months of airing, Ghosted has proved to be a lot of fun.

Starring Adam Scott of Parks and Recreation fame as well as Craig Robinson, best known as Darryl Philbin in the American The Office, the show follows the two who are forced into becoming partners and working for The Bureau Underground, a secret agency that fights back against paranormal, supernatural and extraterrestrial threats in Los Angeles and it's surrounding regions. Scott and Robinson have excellent chemistry as essentially the workplace Odd Couple, with Robinson playing the veteran street smart detective and Scott playing the odd yet hyper-intelligent former professor who's wife may or may not have been abducted by aliens.

The supporting cast is great too, with Amber Stevens West as the Bureau's resident badass, Adeel Akhtar as the socially awkward scientist and Ally Walker as the no-nonsense boss. So far the series has bounced all around mythology, tackling ghosts, possession, succubi and more. It's a fun show that plays with the monster of the week formula while still integrating an overarching plot.

Fox has okayed six more episodes for the first season, upping the total count from ten to sixteen. This is a good indication that a second season is on the horizon. Not only that but Paul Lieberstein will be joining the series as executive showrunner. Lieberstein has a long and solid track record, not just guesting frequently as perennial redhead humdrum Toby Flenderson on The Office but also as an executive producer on that very show as well as on critically acclaimed HBO drama The Newsroom

Go check out Ghosted if you haven't yet! It's sure to tickle the funny bone while also appeasing fans of the supernatural and all around weird.
