I'm not even kidding, a week ago I watched criminally underrated slasher musical Stage Fright (the one with Meat Loaf, not with the Owl Man) and made a definitive statement: "horror needs more musicals."
Thanks, horror deities! It appears they were listening.
Well, not really. I mean Anna and the Apocalypse has been on the festival circuit for a minute now and it seems to be a critical darling. After this trailer, I'm sure you will see why. I could try to encapsulate my feelings about just why Anna and the Apocalypse seems ready made to be a surefire cult classic but instead I'll just quote Alex Billingtor from First Showing because I can't do better than his wonderful descriptor: "Shaun of the Dead meets La La Land."
