CBS Greenlights Jordan Peele's THE TWILIGHT ZONE Revival

As we reported here a month ago, CBS and Jordan Peele were working on reviving the beloved genre anthology series The Twilight Zone for CBS’ streaming service CBS All Access. Well we are happy to report from Deadline that, yes, The Twilight Zone is coming back. I’ll take a moment so we can all jump in joy like crazy people.

“Too many times this year it’s felt we were living in a twilight zone, and I can’t think of a better moment to reintroduce it to modern audiences,” Peele said. CBS All Access executive Julie McNamara added: “The original The Twilight Zone bridged science fiction, horror, and fantasy together to explore human nature and provide social commentary in a way that audiences had never seen before. Under the auspices of Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg, and Marco Ramirez, and with the creative freedom that the CBS All Access platform affords, this is an incredible opportunity to bring today’s audiences a modern reimagining of this iconic series.”

The Twilight Zone was originally broadcast in 1959, running five seasons and introducing homes across the nation to creator Rod Serling, his informal dialectic demeanor, and his cabinet of curiosities. The Twilight Zone has been attempted revivals to varying degrees of success from the Spielberg backed film (leading to the first revival which I count as a Yay!) to the most recent iteration on that aired on UPN (A sad Nay.) But with anthology TV being in a new golden age thanks in part to TZ-inspired shows like Black Mirror, and Peele coming hot of the success of Get Out, our hopes are currently set to high.

Keep your dials tuned here for all the news about the dimension of not only sight and sound, but mind!
