The World Builds In New A QUIET PLACE Trailer
Entertainment Weekly just broke the news of a brand new trailer for A Quiet Place, the upcoming horror film from John Krasinski (The Office, Detroit). We've been following this film ever since we got first word back in 2017 and the new trailer, which premiered on The Ellen Show Monday morning, only fuels the fire.
The trailer finally begins to give us some slight clues as to what is going on despite still being left completely in the dark. The trailer opens with Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow, Sicario) looking at monitors flashing signs of a clear worldwide panic. Fragmented notes are scrawled on the white board next to her. "What is the weakness?", "Confirmed Blind", "Attack in packs?", and "Why don't they eat their kill?" Later we find Blunt with a stethoscope on, listening to the heart beat...of her unborn child. The infamous shot of Emily Blunt screaming that has been synonymous with the film? Turns out that is likely she is in labor, attempting to keep the screams of childbirth...to a minimum? And where's John Krasinski when his baby mama needs him the most?! None of these questions are answered, but the trailer has opened the world up (who is setting off all the fireworks and can you still buy them from roadside stands in the apocalypse?) in ways I was not anticipating. And I love it.
