Vengeance is hot right now. It has been since the first John Wick graced us back in 2014. Taking a formula that Taken introduced and adding some gun-jitsu and interesting mythos, it's been a steady stream of action revenge films. John Wick is James Dean cool but things are SOMEHOW GETTING EVEN COOLER.

I've got a couple of things to say.

Blumhouse. Hottest indie filmmaking company in the industry. Masters of the craft. Experts at recognizing talent and tapping it, allowing creators to explore greatness i.e. Get OutThe GiftWhiplash, etc, etc.

Leigh Whannell. One of the most interesting voices in horror over the last decade. Wrote Saw, Dead Silence, Insidious, among others. Directed Insidious: Chapter 3

Logan Marshall Green. Initially on the precipice of teen heartthrob with his roles in The O.C. and Across the Universe who has slowly gained critical love showcasing his chops in films like The Invitation and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Combine them and what do you have? Upgrade.

Hitting theaters in just a few weeks, June 1st to be exact, we should all be onboard building the hype on this film. First thing is first. Check out this dope ass trailer.

Okay. Now that that's done. HOLY SHIT Y'ALL HOW FUN DOES THAT LOOK?! Logan Marshall Green oozes charisma as the unexpected action hero and the subtle tongue in cheek humor that Whannell has perfect over his last few films look to be firing on all cylinders. Everything about this film just seems fun as all hell. The "relationship" between STEM and Grey, the near-dystopian future setting, the mechanical yet inspired way that Grey fights. Sure, we've seen the general premise but Whannell has injected it with a sci-fi twist and unsuspecting hero. This is Robocop meets John Wick.

We already know that Whannell has a knack for horror and this trailer is enough to make us think he may know a thing or two about science fiction and action. Trailers are supposed to give you a glimpse into the film, tell you something about it and this one screams the message:
