Campaign Launches for SURVIVAL OF THE FILM FREAKS and We ALL Need to Make This Happen
Online campaigns to bring something to life in physical format are commonplace nowadays and it’s a pretty fantastic thing for all of collectors. There’s just something different about seeing something on your shelf. Now, we have the chance to get Survival of the Film Freaks made into a disc and we need to band together to make this happen.
A passionate love letter at cult cinema and how it has survived all the way into the twenty-tens, Survival is a fascinating observation of the fervor and obsession with finding these gems in cinema and keeping them alive, brining them back to life format by format, promising to never let them die. While the doc features some commentary from industry vets such as Lloyd Kaufman, Joe Bob Briggs and Adam Green, it’s exciting to see some of the well known collector’s in the scene, such as Jackson Stewart and Rob Galluzzo .
We have band together for so many things and it’s time once more to rally the troops and make this project a reality.

Survival Of The Film Freaks is a documentary exploring the phenomenon of cult film and how it survives in the 21st Century. Through interviews with cult icons such as Ted Raimi and Lloyd Kaufman, alongside modern-day filmmakers like Adam Green and Jackson Stewart, Film Freaks examines decades of film fanaticism and how the 'digital age' has transformed the way we experience movies. At the helm of Film Freaks is the directing duo of Bill Fulkerson and Kyle Kuchta, who have spent the last three years making the documentary.
The campaign offers more than just Film Freaks on disc: Other perks include a physical cassette or digital download of the film’s soundtrack, an exclusive limited poster and limited t-shirt. Donations go towards the manufacturing and deliver of these items, as well as the eventual digital release of the documentary.
The film premiered at HorrorHound Weekend Film Festival in August 2018, where it was nominated for Best Picture. It was screened and awarded at various festivals throughout the country including Shawna Shea Film Festival (winner of Best Documentary of the Festival), Sin City Horror Festival (Winner of Best Editing) and Knoxville Horror Film Festival (Winner of Special Jury Prize for Most Connection With Audience)
