Sleepy Hollow Film Festival Comes Riding In October 10th
I’ve you live in the Greater New York area and love horror, why haven’t you already been to Sleepy Hollow? During Halloween, they host a MASSIVE jack-o-lantern festival that features some of the wildest and craziest pumpkin art you’ve ever seen. Seriously: it’s insane.
But adding to that insanity this year is the areas first ever international film festival, and their program looks pretty fucking rad. Between your expected film premiers, the festival will also include:
a 20th Anniversary presentation of Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow
a 70th Anniversary screening of Disney’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
a special celebration of Brian DePalma’s Phantom of the Paradise
a salute to the 1935 classic The Bride of Frankenstein.
If that wasn’t enough, they’ll also be having a live program at The Tarrytown Music Hall that’ll feature Jeffrey Combs as Edgar Allan Poe in Nevermore (!!!), and a live reading of Plan 9 from Outer Space! with an all-star cast including Dana Gould, Bobcat Goldthwait and more.
For a first year film festival, this is an incredible line up of and looks to be exactly as its described: a celebration of outstanding genre cinema in the historic cradle of the American supernatural. Visit their website and
